Great opportunity!

(*If you are interested in this, I have more information. -Dr. Walker)

Dear AU Faculty Member,

I am writing to introduce you and students at American University to an exciting opportunity from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. This year we are initiating our Pulitzer Center Liaison program, an educational outreach program aimed at college students across the United States. We are looking for energetic and articulate students who are interested in journalism and global affairs and who want to engage their fellow students – and faculty members – on underreported international issues.

Attached you will find a description of our Pulitzer Center Liaison program and brief background information regarding the Pulitzer Center itself. We would appreciate it if you could forward the attached description to students via your various communication outlets and to other faculty members who could announce this opportunity in their classes. For more information regarding our international reporting projects and innovative non-profit journalism model, please point them to our website, http://www.pulitzercenter.org.

We would like to appoint this semester’s liaisons as soon as possible. Please let interested students know that they should send us an e-mail or call us if they are interested.

Please direct all questions and inquiries to my colleague, Janeen Heath, who is spearheading the Liaison program. She can be reached at (202-332-0982) or by email (jheath@pulitzercenter.org).

Thank you for helping us make our educational outreach program a success -- and for helping to get college students talking and thinking about international issues from around the globe.

Best regards,

Bethany Whitfield
